Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp stressed that the story of his player Mohamed Salah moving to the Saudi League this summer is just media speculation.
Klopp said in statements to Sky Sports before the start of the Aston Villa match: “Rumors of Salah’s move to Saudi Arabia? These are just media speculation. They have never turned into reality.”
He added, "I have a big office, with a lot of papers, and I have a laptop, and everything you need. None of them were busy with any of this news."
The German coach continued, "I have a lot of things to do, and that's why we never thought about this matter."
Klopp concluded, "Salah trained normally all week. There was nothing to think about."
The Saudi Jeddah Federation continues its pressure to include Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, according to numerous reports.
According to Sky Sports, the Saudi team is preparing to prepare an offer worth 200 million pounds sterling to include the Egyptian winger.
Liverpool had rejected an offer worth 150 million pounds, stressing that Salah was not for sale.
The Athletic Network revealed earlier that the Saudi offer, which was in excess of 100 million pounds sterling, in addition to add-ons as well, was not taken into consideration, and was immediately rejected by Liverpool.
This happened on Thursday evening, in a call from the Jeddah Football Association to Mike Gordon, Liverpool’s sporting director, according to the report.
A few days ago, Jurgen Klopp said in a press conference: “Our position remains the same regarding Mohamed Salah. There is no offer, as far as I know, and the player is not for sale.”
He added, "There is a big difference between the contracts here and the contracts in Saudi Arabia. They are causing us problems because of this huge difference."
The Saudi newspaper “Okaz” reported on Thursday that the Jeddah Federation had finalized the contract deal with Mohamed Salah and clarified the date of the player’s arrival.
The Saudi newspaper’s report indicated: “The federal negotiator decided on the transfer of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah to Al-Ittihad Club, coming from Liverpool.”
He explained, "The player will arrive in Jeddah via private plane on Friday evening," which did not happen
Liverpool insisted that Salah - 31 years old - be considered not for sale, closing this file irrevocably.
