Qatari Nasser Al-Khelaifi, owner of Paris Saint-Germain, was re-elected as president of the European Club Association by acclamation.
Al-Khulaifi was chosen because no one was nominated against him.
The announcement came at the conclusion of the General Assembly meetings of the European Club Association.
Al-Khelaifi, President of the European Clubs Association, and Aleksander Ceferin, President of the European Football Association, signed a renewable memorandum of understanding for the period from 2023 to 2030.
Al-Khelaifi highlighted the importance of the renewed Memorandum of Understanding and the recognition that the European Clubs Association brings as the sole representative of European clubs in Europe and the world.
In 2021, the European Clubs Association announced that Nasser Al-Khulaifi, owner of Paris Saint-Germain, would assume its presidency, succeeding Andrea Agnelli, who announced his resignation in the wake of the announcement of the idea of the European Super League.
At that time, most European clubs withdrew from joining the European Super League, which was announced before the idea was frozen due to the clubs' withdrawal from it.
